Remarkables Park Ltd, principal owner and developer of the 150ha master planned Remarkables Park Zone, is planning to more than double the size of the Remarkables Park Town Centre.

The news comes hot on the heels of an announcement from Diversified NZ about the successful performance of the existing Remarkables Park Town Centre and their plans to develop their remaining site in the first stage of the Centre.

Remarkables Park Ltd co-director John Porter said the strong retail performance, the future adjoining high school of 1500 pupils and other Remarkables Park projects in the pipeline, were all reasons RPL was planning to more than double the size of the Remarkables Park Town Centre.

“This is starting immediately with 4000m2 of medium format retail to be developed by an independent company which was presented to the Remarkables Park Design Review Board today (Friday August 24),” he said.

”At the same meeting the Design Review Board was also presented with information about two other Remarkables Park developments, a new Childcare Centre and a nine-unit residential apartment complex.”

The Childcare Centre is being built by Zig Zag Zoo for 75 preschool children, and the apartments will have the potential to provide staff and student residential accommodation for the expanding Southern Institute of Technology campus at Remarkables Park.

RPL will present plans for a further 8000m2 of Remarkables Park Town Centre expansion in September.
