Warriors tackle Queenstown adventure

The Warriors hit Queenstown over the weekend to revitalise, re-energise and experience some adrenaline-fuelled activities after a tough National Rugby League season.

On Sunday, players embarked on a ‘High Five’ afternoon of thrills which included jet boating, a scenic helicopter flight, trip up the gondola and some luge rides.

Warriors veteran Micheal Luck, who has just ended his playing career, couldn’t say enough about the experience.

“It’s an incredible place and all the boys had loads of fun,” he said.

“Coming to Queenstown has been a great opportunity for us to take time out to reflect on the past few months and recover from the disappointing season we’ve had.

“While it’s over for me, the hard work starts all over again for the boys in a few weeks. They need to refresh and regain their mental edge.”

Captain Simon Mannering said it was a thrill for him being back in Queenstown.

“I always love coming down here. It’s a brilliant part of the world and it’s been a great experience for all of us, especially the boys who hadn’t been here before,” he said.

“There’s just so much to see and do. We’ve had a great time.”

Luck and Mannering said the players were really grateful to Destination Queenstown and the local operators for the work they had done to make their stay so enjoyable.
