Children of all ages are invited to blast off at the Taupō District Libraries and Museum these school holidays, 1–12 October 2012

Rocket launching, wacky science experiments, space odyssey adventures and some crazy space crafts are just some of the great activities on offer to celebrate World Space Week.

In addition, kids can pick a pet on SPCA day, learn to draw with local illustrator extraordinaire Donovan Bixley, play some “old school” games, read poetry and join Kev for more than just story telling.

Education Officer Tammy Merriman promises there will be something for everyone, and loads of fun to be had. “After the success of our last programme, I’m looking forward to seeing a few familiar faces and hopefully some new ones”.

Turangi kids can also take advantage of a wonderful line-up of activities at Turangi Library with robot and flower crafts, board games and a fun water bomb session.  Turangi teens will have the opportunity to experience an hour in the life of a radio announcer behind the scenes at Tῡwharetoa FM.

Copies of the programmes can be downloaded from the Taupō District Libraries website www.taupodistrictlibraries.govt.nz  or the Taupō Museum website www.taupomuseum.co.nz
