A Micronaut in the Wide World: The Imaginative Life and Times of Graham Percy, and the major publication that accompanies it, celebrate the achievement of Graham Percy as a published illustrator and brings to light a significant body of work never seen before.

Born in Stratford in 1938, the late Graham Percy studied at Elam School of Fine Arts before embarking on a career as an illustrator, designer and artist.

Percy was a pivotal figure in the design and illustration of the New Zealand School Journal in the early 1960s, before a career move to London, where he illustrated over 100 books including such classics as Wind in the Willows, Aesop’s Fables and The Arabian Nights.

An exhibition for all ages, visitors will thoroughly enjoy Percy’s skills, imagination and sense of humor and delight at the historic attachment through school journals and the illustrations of Wind in the Willows.   This exhibition will be enjoyed for its sheer entertainment value and appreciated for its intellectual twists.

Taupō Museum is open daily from 10.00am until 4.30pm.
