Labour’s spokesperson for Pacific Island Affairs, Su’a William Sio, expresses his sympathy and condolences to the family of the late Very Rev Kenape Faletoese who passed away on Friday the 28th of September.

“The Very Rev Faletoese was a pioneering Minister in the early days of the Pacific Island Presbyterian Church in both Christchurch and Wellington and later made significant contributions to the Auckland Community during his retirement years.

“Very Rev Faletoese was the only Pacific Island Minister who has held the role as Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand Assembly in 1986.

“I believe the Pacific church community will remember the Very Rev Faletoese for his tireless mission work within the community and on behalf of my Labour Party colleagues I wish to extend our thoughts and condolences to his family during this difficult time”, says Su’a William Sio.

The funeral will be held at the Pacific Island Presbyterian Church, Buckland Road, Mangere on Friday 5 October at 10am.
