Paradise Bay, Pelorus Sound

In exercise of the power contained in Section 342(1)(a) of the Local Government Act 1974, and in accordance with the Tenth Schedule of that Act, public notice is hereby given that the Marlborough District Council proposes to stop legal road containing (1) 0.1347 ha shown as Section 1 SO plan 451032; (2) 2.0073 ha shown as Section 2 SO plan 451032; (3) 0.0470 ha shown as Section 3 SO plan 451032, Marlborough District.

Explanation

The legal (paper) road traverses bush terrain adjoining the foreshore reserve. The proposal is for the road land to be stopped and the land be transferred to the Crown as Scenic Reserve to be administered by the Department of Conservation. Thus there would be no loss of public ownership or access.

Purpose

Should the road stopping be completed the land will be transferred to the Crown.

Further Information

Further details of the proposed road stopping, including the plan of survey showing the portions of road to be stopped, may be inspected at the offices of the Marlborough District Council, Seymour Street, Blenheim.

Anyone wishing to object to this proposed stopping can submit a written objection to the Council no later than Tuesday, 20 November 2012. The submissions should be addressed to Judith North, Marlborough District Council, PO Box 443, Blenheim 7240.
