Put on your party hats and rock on down to Domino’s Whangarei this weekend for the biggest pizza party this side of town!

Domino’s on Water St is celebrating their 12th anniversary in style, with free family entertainment for their loyal customers on October 13 and 14. Domino’s Whangarei franchise owner Jayesh Madhav says he is expecting the store to be jam-packed.

“We did one a few years ago and were overwhelmed and thrilled by how many of our regular customers showed up to support us. This weekend, we’ve set ourselves up a little challenge of seeing if we can beat our personal record for the most pizzas sold in one weekend. The party is also a bit of a thank you for the local community, who has been with us since the beginning and helped us make a success of the store.”

Madhav says that customers will be treated to free in-store sampling of products such as different sides, and there will be free lollies, face painting and a balloon man for kids. Pepperoni Pete, the unofficial mascot of the store, will also be outside to help make people feel welcome.

“We’ll be promoting the pizzas from our $3.99 value range, the $4.99 traditional range and the $9.99 indulgent range, that’s our premium pizzas. There’s something for every budget, and we reckon it will be a hit, especially for families with young kids.”

The Water St store started life as a Pizza Haven before being turned into a Domino’s six years ago – and Madhav has been there every step of the way. He says being a part of the Domino’s family has allowed him to participate more actively within the Northland community.

“It’s been a wonderful feeling being encouraged to give back to the community through Domino’s many sponsorship initiatives. Apart from Doughraisers, we’ve helped out local schools with prizes and recently done a donation for an event at a local art gallery where they were promoting local artists – we donated half the pizzas, and did a special deal for the other half. We also sponsor a soccer team by supplying them with uniforms.”

The party weekend will run all day Saturday and Sunday, and Madhav hopes that families will drop by for a bit of fun and face painting even if they’re not planning to purchase pizzas.

“It’s the weekend, so the perfect chance for you to relax and take some time off from the kitchen. Our value pizzas are great for people looking for just your basic ham and cheese, Hawaiian or margherita – you can’t go wrong for $3.99, those after more of your mid-range pizzas might like to try our new low-carb pizza, BBQ meatlovers or supreme and if you want a real treat, then try one of our premium pizza flavours, like prawn supreme, chicken Italiano or our spicy fire breather if you’re feeling really brave!”
