Rinnai Fire Picks Up Design Award

A Kiwi designed fire which delivers class leading heating output has received an award for its innovative product design.

Rinnai’s Arriva 752 was awarded Bronze for New Zealand Best Product Design – consumer in The Best Design Awards.

An initiative of The Designers Institute of New Zealand, The Best Design Awards is the annual showcase of excellence in graphic, spatial, product and interactive design.

The Arriva 752 flame fire took out the Bronze award in the Best Product Design category for consumers. The fire allows consumers multiple design aspects and flexible flue solutions.

Rinnai General Manager Sales and Marketing;Mark McCutcheon says the design team set out to create a product that would bring a touch of everyday magic to owners’ lives.

“The Arriva 752 allows our customers to design their own gas fireplace within a range of mix ‘n match choices including two burn media and six different fascia options plus several flueing options – this allows consumers to install in a wider range of locations,” he says.

McCutcheon says the Arriva 752 has a 5.6 star energy rating* and heat output of 7.0kW on high, providing a dedicated warm area of 90 square metres in warm climates and being approved by the Sensitive Choice Programme with the Asthma Foundation it provides optimal heat and ensures a heating solution which alleviates the likelihood of an allergic reaction.

The Arriva 752 design directors were Ben Hawkins and Greg Brinsden and the design team made up of Guoping Chen and John Johansson.
