Highlights
In January 2011 compared with December 2010:

• Food prices rose 1.8 percent.
• Fruit and vegetable prices rose 7.4 percent.
• Grocery food prices rose 0.9 percent.
• Meat, poultry, and fish prices rose 1.7 percent.
• Non-alcoholic beverage prices rose 1.2 percent.
• Restaurant meals and ready-to-eat food rose 0.4 percent.

From January 2010 to January 2011:

• Food prices increased 3.8 percent.
