Fire ban for Auckland

A total ban on fires in the Auckland region has been put in place for the anniversary weekend.

Auckland Council imposed the ban, which includes Great Barrier Island, Kawau Island, Waiheke Island and the other islands in the Hauraki Gulf, because of an elevated risk and forecast hot and dry conditions over the long weekend.
