World renowned chef Tetsuya Wakuda is visiting New Zealand shores to share his culinary secrets at an exclusive Electrolux masterclass event for well known food industry heavyweights.

An exclusive audience of who’s who from the food world will be attending tomorrow night’s event at the Auckland Seafood School including well known chef Julie Buiso and President of the Food Writers Guild Lauraine Jacobs who will be the MC for the evening.

An Electrolux brand ambassador, Tetsuya will be showcasing the innovation of induction cooking whilst demonstrating the intricate skills used in his acclaimed restaurants; Tetsuya’s in Sydney and Waku Ghin in Singapore.

“With induction, control is at your fingertips. Induction has the ability to produce intense heat in a short amount of time, but also allows a refined temperature control which is vital to my style of cooking,” said Tetsuya.

Malcolm Bain, General Manager Electrolux New Zealand, says it is a privilege to have one of the industry’s most respected and beloved chefs run the exclusive masterclass event.

“Electrolux has been working with Tetsuya for over nine years and we wanted to provide New Zealand food lovers the opportunity to share in his passion for cooking and creativity in the kitchen,” said Malcolm.

Tetsuya’s long standing relationship with Electrolux has seen him choose Electrolux kitchen appliances for both his award winning restaurant and for his home for more than 20 years.

“An inspiring and practical kitchen environment is the means to cooking perfection,” said Tetsuya.
Tetsuya’s culinary philosophy centres on pure, clean flavours that are decisive yet completely refined.

Tomorrow night, Tetsuya will be demonstrating a number of his favourite recipes including Salt & Pepper Spanner Crab and Chicken Tagine with Couscous on the Electrolux Induction cooktop.
